About our SoCalBikeNite web host
A native Californian, Rick Cline is the son of a World War II navy veteran. Following high school graduation he continued his education at Fullerton College and opened an auto parts business at age 21. Remaining in the automotive field until 1985 Rick began a career in professional photography and photojournalism. His work in various motor-sports such as drag and powerboat racing has appeared around the world in hundreds of magazines, newspapers and tabloids including "the National Enquirer," the "Los Angles Times," with "UPI" (United Press International), "World Book Encyclopedia," the "Orange County Register," "The Press-Enterprise" and countless others. He has earned several awards for outstanding achievements in photography and journalism. A former magazine editor and a long-time enthusiast of World War II history, Rick wrote his first book in 1995 and three years later founded R. A. Cline Publishing (www.SubmarineBooks.com). To date his Riverside (CA.) based book publishing company has produced 6-titles including three of his own. Still active in professional and commercial photography (www.RickClinePhotography.com) as well as the naval book publishing business he enjoys many activities. Some of his favorites are sport-bikes, fast boats and muscle cars.
Raised around water and fast boats he was water-skiing at the tender age of 8 and surfing at 13. A skilled skier at 34, he won a speed ski race in central California. Today a single man, Rick still ski’s and enjoys driving his hot rod boat. Two of his most memorable lifetime experiences include a thrilling flight aboard a B-25 World War II bomber and a deep sea voyage (courtesy the U.S. Navy) inside the American Nuclear Attack Submarine, USS Helena (SSN-725).
A motorcycle rider from age 15, Rick owns a Kawasaki ZX12-R "Ninja." Founder of SoCalBikeNite.com, he first launched this site on the Internet in July 2004. Since then, traffic and name recognition has grown rapidly. While the size and content is still expanding, SoCalBikeNite has already become known as the premier website for Southern California Bike Nights. A special Thanks to all of you who have supported and visited our site, helping this become the best bike night site on the Internet.
